I have been selling books for almost 30 years now, having fallen into the trade by accident with a temporary job at Blackwell’s that was soon to become permanent. My reading tastes are quite eclectic really, but History & Biography are my favourite genres.

I have a slight obsession with all things Mediaeval & Tudor, and love nothing better than devouring the latest historical fiction, be it Philippa Gregory, SJ Parris, Conn Iggulden, or those fabulous authors pressed on me in my youth by my grandmother, Jean Plaidy & Georgette Heyer. There are not enough hours in the day for reading really, but away from the Bookshop I enjoy getting up onto the Fells or Roman Wall for some serious walking, or just pottering in my lovely little courtyard garden. Quite unexciting really!
